“It’s a song about shooting your shot,” Gilbert says. “Long story short.”
“We weren't really trying to write a number one because we didn't ever think we'd get one. We were just trying to write a good song, and that was the approach I can honestly say we took on the majority of these,” Brantley recently told Katie Neal when discussing his upcoming album. “It was more about, ‘hey, let's write a cool song and let it be what it wants to be.’”
“It just raised its hand from the beginning,” he says more pointedly about “Good Damn.”
“It had all of our votes and we’re about to see what she can do.”
