Ten years into an already-impressive career, Dan + Shay are still cranking out the hits. Today, the guys, along with Audacy celebrate the release of their brand new single, “Save Me The Trouble,” the lead single off their new, forthcoming album.

“I feel like this song is just everything that our fans love, but also pushing the boundaries a little bit,” Shay Mooney said of the fresh track. “This is the very first song off of a new project, which I feel like marks a new era — Just a new way of going about our lives and our career, which I’m very excited about.”
That fresh outlook comes after a rough patch for the guys in 2021 after they questioned whether or not they wanted to keep making music.
"I was in the lowest low of my entire life," Dan Smyers recalled in a recent YouTube video. "Came off the road and I was like, 'Man, I f***ing hate music. I'm ready to quit.'"
Shay Mooney boldly added, “I could feel the separation and I think there was little things between you and I that we never talked about and it was affecting everything. Not just our band — our marriages, everything. I was in a really dark place."

After some deep soul-searching and bold gut checks, the duo picked themselves up and got back to what made them happiest — creating music… together. They took their time creating what’s set to be their next album, which is even sweeter for fans knowing it almost didn’t happen.
“I hope they [the fans] feel, out of everything, that is it genuine and that every song on this new project came from a very genuine place,” they shared. “Somewhere that we’ve been, or that we are and it just sort of marks this new era of Dan + Shay.”
While their new lease on life and career is sure to be noticed in their new music, there’s some things that will remain the same… like Shay’s out-of-this-world vocals. Those haven’t gone anywhere according to duo mate, Dan Smyers.
“This song means so much to us, we’re so proud of it and every time I listen to it, I feel so lucky to get to sing with the greatest singer in the entire world — this guy right here, Mr. Shay Mooney,” Dan said. “[He] just sings his butt off on this one, it’s crazy.”
He continued, “Some day when we look back on our career, I think this is going to be a special song.”
