“‘Dear Big City’ is a song about a small town writing a letter to the big city,” Scott explains, “just saying, ‘hey, that kid that's on his way there, take care of him. Don't pull out his roots. Let them find their dreams and just send them back to us every chance you can.’”
"I felt like 'Dear Big City' was a single the day I heard it," he adds. "Not only the lyric, but the melody was just captivating to me."
"I left the small town and moved to Nashville, the big city, to chase a dream. I just felt like there's so many people in this world who have either done the same thing in a way, or they know somebody who has, whether a parent's had a kid leave home and move off to college, or if the parent themselves, did the same thing for a job or whatever. So, I think, everyone can relate to a song like this."
