“I feel like my audience, ‘No Shoes Nation,’ is all heart. I try to record songs that I have lived, but I also try to record songs that a lot of people have lived,” he shared. “There’s part of me that has lived this song, but I felt when I first heard this — the message of it — that a lot of my audience, it would resonate with them.”
All about taking risks in life and seeing where they take you, Chesney says he’s proud to take the new song on the road to play for fans across the globe while encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones. “I’m very proud of it. I haven’t had this kind of song in a while and it’s just going to fit perfect in what we do out there on the road.”
He continued, “One of the things that’s very powerful about, ‘Take Her Home,’ is that it has the opportunity to maybe inspire people to do something that they’re afraid of, that they’re nervous about... To see where it naturally progresses in their life… had they let that moment pass, then the whole trajectory of their life would’ve been different. If you take the chance, you never know how it’ll turn out, if you don’t it’s stay the same and that’s the power of this record.”
