The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for the OCOOPA Rechargeable Hand Warmers due to reports of fires, burn injuries, and even a death linked to the product's lithium-ion battery overheating.
he Chinese manufacturer, OCOOPA Direct, has received numerous reports of overheating incidents, including 15 fires and 350 burn injuries.
Approximately 1.5 million of these hand warmers were sold between September 2018 and May 2026 on various platforms. They were mostly sold online at Amazon.com, Ocoopa.com, Ocoopa.net and Walmart.com for between $15 and $60. The products were manufactured in China.
