75 Sheep Run Wild After Managing to Escape Live Stock Auction

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- Police became livestock wranglers in Hackettstown, New Jersey last night.

More than 75 sheep and goats escaped from a livestock auction around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The animals pushed their way out of an unsecured gate and made a break for it.

Some good Samaritans helped police rounded up most of the animals but some remained on the loose.

"Never did I think I would herd goats and sheep but (my friend) and I can take that one off the bucket list," one woman wrote on Instagram, where she posted video and photos of the animals being brought back to their pen.

Some of the animals could be seen roaming the streets near the Hackettstown train station.
