Police in Akron, Ohio, are investigating the theft of a bridge.

According to WJW, the missing bridge used to be along the Little Cuyahoga River in Middlebury Run Park, which is just around the corner from Goodyear’s world headquarters.

At some point, the 58-foot long bridge was removed from the park, and locals have no idea who did it, or why.

Akron police were notified on November 11 that the bridge had been stolen. Investigators were able to find tracks in the field showing where the thieves drove their vehicle.

Officials can only guess why the entire structure was stolen.

“It could be used for a variety of different things," said Lt. Mike Miller, "to include as simple as landscaping, or they could use it for some other engineering project, some other large scale project."

Authorities say the bridge is almost like a large Lego set, and is somewhat easy to take apart.

“The bridge is almost all polymer I’m told," Lt. Mike Miller recalled, "and really just connected by some bolts. So if you have any equipment, sockets, or anything of that nature, it wouldn’t have been very difficult at all to start the process of disassembling that."

Police said the bridge doesn’t have any value if recycled, so their guess is that the thieves are looking for someone who wants to buy an entire 58-foot bridge.

So yes, someone actually has a bridge to sell you.
