Amazon’s ‘Build It’ program lets you choose which of these 3 products it should make next
You can now have a say in some of the items Amazon produces.
The retail giant has announced a new "Build It" program in which customers can vote on products they want the company to start making, reported CNBC.
The way it works is Amazon will unveil several concept items for which people can submit pre-orders. If a particular item reaches its pre-order goal within 30 days, then Amazon will begin production on it.
Customers will only be billed if the product is made and shipped. Items that don’t reach their pre-order goal will not be made and customers will not be charged for it. According to a notice on Amazon’s website, customers who cancel their order before it ships will not be charged for the item.
To kick-off the Build It program, Amazon is presenting three concepts: a smart cuckoo clock, nutrition scale, and sticky note printer. All require the use of a compatible Echo device to work with Alexa.
Interested buyers have until March 19th to pre-order the items at a discount, before it is revealed which one (if any) will be produced. Items that are produced will be made widely available later, but at a higher price.
