Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.), who is currently running a reelection campaign, was caught rifling through voter mail on a doorbell camera, according to multiple news outlets.

First came The Space Coast Rocket’s Facebook reel with the footage. Its caption said Fine was caught “illegally going through a citizens mailbox and their mail while wearing his campaign gear yesterday,” and that the congressman “potentially violated multiple federal laws with the on-camera act and it’s not clear if he inserted his own campaign materials into their mailbox which would be another violation of the law.”

TMZ also reported on the video and noted that the Ring camera footage timestamped Sunday, Aug. 16 at 4:55 p.m. ET. Fine was apparently canvassing ahead of the Republican primary election held this week in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

“TMZ has confirmed with Fine’s office that it is indeed him in the video,” said the outlet.

While Fine can be seen lifting the mailbox lid and looking through envelopes, it doesn’t show him removing or tampering with any of the mail. TMZ said there doesn’t seem to be any criminal issue with his actions.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Fine won’t be facing federal charges for the incident, citing TMZ. It also identified the home as an Ormond Beach residence.

Fine, a Harvard University graduate, assumed office last April and his term ends in January. He’s running for re-election and just beat social media influencer Dan Bilzerian in the Tuesday election. In the November general election, Fine is expected to run against Democrat Eric Yonce as well as multiple third-party candidates.

Previously, Fine made headlines in 2022 when he said in a social media post that former President Joe Biden would “learn why the Second Amendment was written in the first place,” if he tried to “take our guns.” He made headlines again last year when he said “The Thump Thump Act will allow Americans to run over these Muslim Terrorists. They don’t try this in Florida because of the bill I helped pass in the Legislature to allow them to be run over,” in a social media post.
