The anticipation for Disneyland’s long-awaited reopening is growing as the park announced plans to treat visitors to the fan-favorite dessert Dole Whip.
The Disney staple is a pineapple-flavored soft serve that is both diary-free and vegan. Disney confirmed the news of the dessert to their official TikTok account on Thursday.
"We were at Disneyland, and saw cast members with Dole Whip. You know we asked where they found that because, um, the park is kinda closed," the video says. "Turns out they were testing the machines for opening and sharing it with the cast."
The iconic Dole Whip was first debuted at Disneyland’s Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland in 1968, Fox News reports. The dessert has been one of the go-to snacks at the park ever since, with some even referring to its popularity as a "cult-like following."
It has been over year since the park was forced to close its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Upon the reopening on April 30th, guests will notice some spooky upgrades inside & outside of the Haunted Mansion, like fresh landscaping of dearly departed pets, and exciting resident ghosts.
On June 4, the theme park will also open their new massive Avengers Campus.
"Avengers Campus is comprised of several heroic locations, each hosted by a different Avenger to share their unique powers, technology and knowledge with recruits," Disney wrote.
Park rides will include Web Slingers: A Spiderman Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT where you can "join Rocket on a thrilling mission to rescue the Guardians of the Galaxy from the Collector’s fortress."
