The niece of George Floyd was struck by a bullet fired into an apartment in his hometown of Houston, according to local reports.
Police have yet to identify the child hit in the New Year's Day shooting, but ABC13 reported on Tuesday that the victim was 4-year-old Arianna Floyd. She was reportedly shot in the torso.

Arianna Floyd has undergone surgery following the shooting that her father said happened while she was asleep in her bed.
The shooting took place at around 3 a.m. That's when Houston Police Department's Assaults and Family Violence Division said a suspect or suspects took several shots into an apartment with four adults and two children inside.
According to police, the girl was taken to a nearby hospital for surgery, and she is currently in stable condition. However, Arianna's father said she remains in the hospital with a punctured liver and lung and three broken ribs.
The police have not shared a description of the shooter or a motive at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call the HPD Major Assaults Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
