An emotional moment ensued for one grandmother who received her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, allowing her to reunite with her grandson.

Jean Chvala, a 71-year-old Pennsylvania resident, gave her 3-year-old grandson, Trax, a hug after more than a year, WTAE reports.

The emotional moment was captured on video by Jean’s daughter-in-law, Kelsey, showing Trax running into his grandmother’s arms.

“The reaction was absolutely priceless and filled our hearts with so much love,” Kelsey said. “It makes me want to tear up right now because it’s just such a precious moment that we haven’t had.”

Kelsey continued on to say that the separation was hard for both of them, with Trax often asking if he could visit his grandmother. "All he ever said was 'I want to go to Nan's. I miss my Nan.' It just breaks your heart," Kelsey added.

Kelsey shared the video to WTAE’s Facebook page, and many agreed that the moment was both sweet and emotional.

One user commented, “Praying it all gets better!!”

Another wrote, “I am waiting for that with all my grandchildren! Get first vaccine on the 18! I literally cried with emotions watching this story!!!

The last time Chvala saw her grandson was Christmas 2019.

“It was hard,” Chvala said. “But I FaceTimed him and then I got to talk to him, you know through video chat. But it was hard not being with him.”
