Coronavirus is creeping into higher education.
Harvard University is directing students to move out of their dorms by Sunday at 5 p.m. due to the current coronavirus outbreak.
In a Tuesday morning tweet, the university announced that it will move to online classes on March 23.
“Harvard will begin transitioning to virtual instruction for graduate and undergraduate classes,” read the post, which linked to an official statement by President Lawrence Bacow.
The school’s spring break was set to kick off on Saturday, but per the university's directive, students won’t be coming back.
The announcement comes one day after Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced that the city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade has been cancelled.
Forty-one people have tested positive for coronavirus in Massachusetts.
