In December, 2021, the average price of a new car was anything but affordable – an estimated $47,000, according to Kelly Blue Book.

The average car price rose by an estimated $1,800 in 2019. That figure jumped to $3,330 in 2020, and in 2021, the price of a new car cost consumers over $6,000 more than the year prior.
