An Arizona man was recently booked on multiple felony firearm charges after he was found with weapons, including a loaded revolver, near Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
According to a Monday Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Lomita Station Facebook page, 36-year-old Sean Steiner of Glendale, Ariz., was arrested around a week prior. His arrest was prompted by a call from a concerned citizen, the post said.
When they found Steiner, he was allegedly running through traffic on Palos Verdes Drive South. He was armed with a semi-automatic AR pistol and loaded revolver, with more weapons nearby.
Earlier that day, Steiner had been spotted hiking through nearby trails wearing rifle-rated body armor, gloves while carrying a rifle, a duffle bag, and a step stool. That rifle – painted green and purple with phrases from Batman villain The Joker like “why so serious” and “let’s put a smile on that face” – was loaded with a round in the chamber and a full magazine inserted, the sheriff’s station said.

“An armed individual, firing a weapon, walking through traffic and trails… in a populated area,” said the Lomita Station post. “Because someone spoke up, deputies were able to safely detain him before anyone was hurt.”
Previously, a man named Ryan Routh was arrested for attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump while he was golfing at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Fla., one of multiple assassination attempts related to the president. Lomita Sheriff’s Station did not indicate there was any risk to the president during the incident with Steiner.
In 2012, mass shooter James Holmes invoked The Joker when he opened fire during a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora, Colo., per ABC News. Holmes was wearing head-to-toe ballistic gear during the shooting.
Among the weapons authorities linked to Steiner, there was a short-barreled semi-automatic style rifle (AR pistol) with the tip painted orange resembling a toy gun, two loaded handguns high-capacity magazines, extra ammunition and a ballistic vest capable of stopping rifle rounds.
Steiner admitted to firing one of the pistols near a landslide area to “get some anger out,” authorities said.
