A hospital staff member in Italy is being accused of skipping out on work with pay for a total of 15 years.

Authorities claim that he stopped going to work at Ciaccio hospital in Catanzaro somewhere around 2005. According to BBC News, the man has been arrested and is accused of fraud, extortion, and abuse of office.
This all comes from a long investigation conducted by police. It’s alleged that the man was paid almost $650,000 since 2005 despite not showing up to work.

The authorities are also investigating six managers who may have been tied to the man's long absence from the job.
The man who’s at the center of this investigation was a civil servant and got hired in 2005, the same year it’s believed he stopped coming to work.
