For the past few days, all eyes have been on President-elect Joe Biden and his family.
And that includes his two dogs Major and Champ Biden!
As Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, usher in a new era in politics, they’ll also make history when they arrive at the White House with their rescue German Shepherd.
Major will be the first shelter dog to live in the White House, while Champ, who has been with the family since 2008, will be returning to familiar territory. Biden served as Vice President from 2009 to 2017.
The furry first dogs have gotten so much attention that an unofficial fan account was created and took off.
@First_Dogs_USA, created for the first pups to grace the halls of 1600 Pennsylvania in four years, is now live!
Per the bio, they love “nom noms, snuggles, and can’t wait to explore the White House!”
The account even coined the term “DOTUS,” or Dogs of the United States.
Major and Champ’s fandom also created a Twitter account with the same username, but sadly, it has been suspended for “violating Twitter rules.”
The Instagram account posted about it asking the public for help. "We pawlieve that a lot of people with different pawlitical affiliations kept reporting it for no reason until they managed to get the algorithm to suspend the account," the post read.
However, it seems that the American people are in serious need of some cute content. In just a day, the fan-made account garnered over 47 thousand followers on Instagram.
While Trump’s White House was dog-free, prior to his four-year term, the country collectively loved the Obama's dogs Bo and Sunny.
