YAPHANK, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Three Long Island boys who have battled cancer got a special surprise Wednesday at the Suffolk County Police Department.
The boys -- 11-year-old Sean Hughes, 10-year-old Jesse Pallas, and 9-year-old Zachary Cote -- proudly showed off their badges at the department's Yaphank headquarters after they were named Cops for a Day.
It's been a hard road for the three. They are in remission now but battled cancer for many years of their young lives.
"If you look at him you would never know this child has been sick because he doesn't talk about it and he spent half his life in this hospital," said Jesse's mom, Fabrica. "He's happy, he's good."
