There are many theories about getting COVID-19 and the chances of getting sick again.
We are getting to the point in the pandemic when we are able to do less speculation and more evaluation of what we have learned. Sadly, we have had so many cases of COVID-19 that we know more and more about what to expect.
For instance, if you get infected with COVID-19, what are the chances of getting it again?
There have been numerous studies, and here’s what we know: First, unvaccinated people who naturally contract COVID-19 are five-and-a-half times more likely to get sick with another infection than those not vaccinated.
They are also vulnerable to getting it a second time in as little as three months.
Omicron and other strains could be different, and studies will continue on those who are vaccine-hesitant as well as cases in those vaccinated as we move through the pandemic.
