LARCHMONT, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — Six-year-old Cassidy Kline is a stuffed animal connoisseur.

The Larchmont, New York girl can usually be found surrounded by the plush toys, not because she’s an avid collector but because she gives them away to kids with cancer.

“I know that people are in cancer, and I know how tough it is getting through,” Kline told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams. “And I got lots of stuffed animals when I was in cancer, so I want them to feel happy.”

When Kline was three, she had a lump on her arm that turned out to be a rare form of sarcoma.

“Seeing her walking around with a little bald head and her toys and giving toys to other children to make them feel better,” Kline’s mother Janine recalled.

Thus was born a charity: Cuddles From Cassidy, an organization that provides loveable friends for sick kids.

“She loves her stuffed animals and she could put herself in the other children's shoes and understand that they would love something like that, too,” said Sean Kline, Cassidy’s father. “She just has a huge heart. She's wise beyond her years. She's just amazing. She's an amazing little girl.”

The organization collects donations and puts together care packages for sick children and their siblings and Cassidy wants to expand. She has dreams of growing the organization across the country and across the globe.
