A man from Tennessee won $1 million in the Tennessee lottery, but ended up losing the ticket.

Nick Slatten purchased the ticket at the grocery story after a long day of work. The following morning, he saw that his numbers matched, making him the winner of over $1 million, reported NBC News.

"I was stunned. I couldn't believe it, I can't express it. It was something else." Slatten said in a statement, per the outlet.

After visiting his fiancée at work to let her know the good news, and then running some errands with his brother, he realized that he had no idea where he put the ticket. You know that feeling when you leave your phone on the shelf at Wal-Mart, and don't realize until you get in your car? Well, I'm sure that's kind of how he felt.

Slatten decided to retrace his steps and found the ticket in the parking lot of an auto parts store. It was sitting next to the drivers side door of another car.

"It's a million-dollar ticket, and someone stepped right over it," he said.

Slatten plans on continuing to work, but will most likely buy a new house and car. He also plans on investing the earnings as well. Smart man...very smart man.
