Heading into the 2019 season, the Marlins completely overhauled the dining options at their eponymous park. They brought in the famed chef José Andrés to set up shop with Butterfly Tacos and La Pepa, and many of the offerings in the park now reflect the strong Spanish and Latin influences on Miami cuisine. They also rolled out a new "305" menu at several stands around the park, allowing guests to pick up basics like hot dogs and nachos for $3, along with mojo pork tacos and draft beers for $5. While those amazing deals are definitely worth a few bucks, there are a bunch of slightly pricier items worth the splurge, foods that you can get nowhere else. Here are our favorite things to eat at Marlins Park.
Pizza
Where to find it: Miami's Best Pizza (section 10)
The Coral Gables pizza shop, with its boastful name and high regard among University of Miami students, also has a location in Marlins Park, where pizzaiolos turn out simple, lovable pies. Get plain. Get pepperoni. It's pizza in front of the Marlins. What more could you want?
Choripan
Where to find it: Novecento (section 24)
These days, plenty of baseball stadiums offer fancy hot dogs loaded with signature toppings, but only Marlins Park offers a true Peruvian choripan. The chorizo sandwich from local chain Novecento comes topped with herb mayo and salsa criolla on a little French baguette.
Chilorio de Res Taco
Where to find it: Butterfly Tacos (section 8)
Sinoloan chiloria arrives in taco form at Butterfly Tacos, an outpost of Andrés' Think Food Group. The spiced meat stew is reimagined with shredded beef in a smoky chile sauce with onion, radish, and cilantro, all piled on a tortilla.
Bubble Waffle Cracker Jack Sundae
Where to find it: Sweets (section 34)
Say that 10 times fast. Or just say it once to the server at Sweets. You'll still receive a mountain of handheld dessert. Ballpark caterer Levy has gifted Marlins fans with this soaring creation (which is best served in a paper container to control drips), a Hong Kong style bubble waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and the iconic ballpark snack.
Sweet Potato Tots
Where to find it: Pincho (section 19)
Who needs ketchup when you have apple butter? The rich sweet dip comes along with these super crispy sweet potato tots from Miami burger chain Pincho. The extra crispy exterior means they'll hold up, even as you jostle your way back to your seat and leapfrog an entire aisle of legs. Don't worry, the tots are worth it. The tots are always worth it.
