Police Officer Rescues Dog From Wildfires, Quickly Adopts Her New Best Friend

By Kayla Jardine

While they didn't meet under normal circumstances, it looks like these two are going to be friends for life.

Officer Carly Stone of the Vacaville Police Department helped rescue dogs from a shelter that was dangerously close to the California wildfires.

Thankfully, police were able to save all of the animals in only 12 minutes from the extremely fast-moving Nelson fires, and captured their daring rescue on body cam. One little dog, named Sean, stood out to Officer Stone because the canine kept trying to sit on her lap while she drove them to safety. That's when she fell in love with the pup.

Immediately after their adorable encounter, Stone went back to the shelter to adopt the 2-year-old animal with her wife.

It looks like out of the ashes of the wildfires, a beautiful friendship was born.
