Here's the worst city for rats in the U.S.

Pest control company Terminix has listed Chicago as No. 6 most rodent-infested cities in its annual list. That's a slight improvement over last year. Houston knocked Chicago out of the top five.

New York City came in first place in the "Worst Cities for Rodents" ranking, followed by Los Angeles, Philadelphia and San Francisco.

The list comes out as rodents are moving in amid dropping fall temperatures.

The pest control company finds cities with the most rats and mice often have three things in common: lots of people, plenty of food, and plenty of places to hide.

Here’s the top 1o list of rat and mouse infested cities in the nation:

1. New York, N.Y.
2. Los Angeles, Calif.
3. Philadelphia, Pa.
4. San Francisco, Calif.
5. Houston, Texas
6. Chicago, Ill.
