Starbucks is hoping to make your next visit more sustainable.
The coffee chain is sweetening deals for Earth Month, including the return of the Earth Cake Pop.
The out of this world treat features a “rich chocolate cake, dipped in a blue chocolatey icing.” It’s topped with “green and white sprinkles” to resemble the earth, “the globe of goodness.”
It’s available at select locations starting at $2.95.
Beginning Friday, April 22, which marks Earth Day, Starbucks is also launching the “reduce, reuse, and reward” program, per a press release.
The new benefit for Starbucks Rewards loyalty members will directly support the company’s planet positive aspirations by reducing single-use cup waste.
Members who bring their clean, personal reusable cups into cafes will earn 25 stars in addition to the 10 cents off their beverage.
“While we are working on solutions for customers to bring in a reusable cup through the drive-thru and mobile ordering, right now customers can only earn the 25 Stars on orders placed in the café and when using their Starbucks Rewards account,” the release adds.
25 stars equates to a free drink customization such as an extra shot of espresso.
The release adds that “customer adoption of reusable cups and promoting reusability is a key part of Starbucks ongoing commitment to reduce single-use cup waste and its goal to reduce waste by 50% by 2030. ”
And in order to encourage more sustainable choices, the chain will also offer 30% off all drinkware on Earth Day, which includes merchandise made from recycled components like the Starbucks To-Go Cold Cup, and To-Go Hot Cup.
Lastly, if you’re planning to give the gift of sustainability, the chain also wants you to consider its first plantable gift card made from seed paper that blooms into flowers when planted and watered regularly.
