Numerous media reports from outlets including CNN and CBS News say that Dallas Cowboys legend Tony Romo was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
While details are still unfolding, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office's arrest report, Romo was pulled over and subsequently performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
He'd been driving south on Interstate 43 on Thursday, police said, in Milwaukee, about 35 miles away from where he had attended high school. He was reportedly on his way home from a goof event when sheriff's department officials said Romo was taken into custody, booked and released.
He has a court appearance set for Sept. 21.
Numerous reports in 2023 said that CBS had an "intervention" with the announcer based on performance in the 2022 season. This is how Pro Football Talk described his situation.

What's next? Per PEOPLE Magazine, Wisconsin law does not consider a first-offense OWI as a criminal charge. The citation, when it's a first offense, typically carries a fine ranging from $150 to $300.
