WASHINGTON, D.C. (1010 WINS) — Vice President Kamala Harris received her COVID-19 vaccine booster shot Saturday morning.

"As we have said from the beginning: the vaccines are free, they are safe and they will save your life," Harris, 57, said from the South Court Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

The vice president received her first dose of the Moderna vaccine on December 29, 2020 and the second dose on January 26, 2021.

Harris is eligible considered a "high-risk" worker as she is required to travel frequently and interact with many individuals in the course of conducting her official duties.
