Wheelchair Athlete Scores Incredible New Titles For Guinness World Records Day

By Meredith Ganzman

Hundreds of thousands around the world accomplished amazing feats for Guinness World Records Day.

Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham has spina bifida and is a professional Wheelchair Motocross athlete from California. The 27-year-old now holds three new titles, including for highest wheelchair hand plant at 27 feet 6.7 inches.

"As a kid, I loved reading the world record books. To actually be a part of it is a childhood dream come true," Fotheringham says.

He also broke the records for tallest quarter pipe drop-in on a wheelchair and the Farthest wheelchair ramp jump at 70 feet 0.5 inches

"It's a cool feeling to be in a positon where kids and adults look up to me. I'm going to show people that a wheelchair is bit more than just a medical device. It's actually a took to help you succeed, and that's been really cool."

We can't wait to see how this incredible competitor continues to shatter more records.
