Businesses saying 'thanks' to Vets with deals and free meals on Veterans Day

The U.S. will honor its military veterans on Friday, Nov. 11 and many restaurants and businesses across the country will be thanking them.

From free coneys to deals at chain favorites, many places will be offering free and discounted meals on Veterans Day.

Most businesses require proof of service by presenting a military ID card or dressing in uniform. It is best to contact a business to verify the deal and requirements before going.

Here are some of the meal deals available to veterans:

7-Eleven – Get a free quarter-pound Big Bite 100% all-beef hot dog. Available in-store and vid delivery through the 7NOW app.

Applebee’s – Veterans and active-duty military can choose a meal from a limited menu.

Biggby Coffee – Free brewed coffee for veterans.

Bob Evans – Free menu of seven homestyle items, including fried steak and crispy fried chicken.

Bonefish Grill – Vets and first responders can get a free order of bang bang shrimp in a creamy, spicy sauce, with a soft drink. The chain also offers a 10% discount to vets, service members and first responders year-round.

Buffalo Wild Wings – Vets and active-duty military can get a free order of boneless wings and fries at participating locations.

Chili’s – Select menu of complimentary meals.

Cracker Barrel – Free slice of double fudge Coca-Cola cake with meal. Also offering in-store specials throughout November.

Denny’s – Free Build-Your-Own Grand Slam from 5 a.m. to noon for vets and active-duty military.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit – Free pulled pork classic sandwich.

Dunkin’ Donuts – Free donut at stores nationwide.

Golden Corral (Nov. 14) – Free “thank you meal” on Monday for Military Appreciation Night.

Great Clips – Either a free haircut on Friday or a card to receive a free haircut at a later date.

Hooters – Free meal from choice of five entrees with the purchase of a beverage (dine-in only).

IHOP – Free Red, White and Blueberry pancakes (dine-in only).

Jet’s Pizza – Half-off menu-priced pizzas (pick-up only, not available online).

Krispy Kreme – Free doughnut and coffee.

Little Caesars – Free lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at participating locations.

Logan’s Roadhouse – Free meal from the American Roadhouse menu 3-6 p.m. nationwide.

Olive Garden – Free entree from a special menu, plus Olive Garden’s famous breadsticks and soup or salad.

On the Border  – Free pick-two combo meal.

Outback Steakhouse – Free bloomin’ onion and Coke.

Red Lobster – Free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, fries and coleslaw for dine-in and to-go orders between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Red Robin – Free Red’s Tavern Double burger and bottomless steak fries (dine-in only).

Sports Clips – Free haircut at some locations.

Starbucks – Free tall hot brewed coffee or iced coffee for active-duty, Reservists, vets and military spouses.

Texas Roadhouse – Free meal vouchers between 11 a.m. and 2 a.m.

Twin Peaks – Free meals from a select menu.

Wendy’s – Free small breakfast combo at stores nationwide.

White Castle – Several free meal options, including breakfast combo or Castle Combo Nos. 1-6.
