Laura Spears from Michigan was looking through her email when she clicked on a message that was in her spam folder.
Now we know what you're thinking -- "What are you doing, Laura? You're going to catch a virus, or worse, on your computer!"

Well, Spears did catch something in the end: three million dollars.
The email she received said she had won a drawing in the Michigan Lottery. She remembered she had purchased a ticket a few weeks back, decided to check the state's lottery website, and discovered her win was legitimate!
Spears said she was only in her spam folder because she was looking for a missing email from one of her friends.
The shocked winner claimed the prize at the lottery's headquarters last week. She plans to share her winnings with family and retire early, and wants to make sure she doesn't find herself in that spam situation again.
Spears told CNN, "I definitely added the Michigan Lottery to my safe senders list just in case I ever get lucky enough to receive another email about a huge prize."
