This cat almost lost all 9 of his lives in one go.
Bart, known commonly as "Zombie Cat," had dug himself out of his own grave back in 2015 after his owners buried him thinking he was deceased. The cat was involved in a car accident that had presumably killed him.
While the owners fought for custody of the cat, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, who treated many of Bart's injuries, ended up settling with the family, and Bart was adopted by the shelter employee who had been fostering him.
In an interview with Today, owner Valerie opened up about how life has been for the miracle cat.
Bart remains as sweet as can be despite his trauma. "Even in the worst of times when he had just arrived, he would head-butt people just to try and get some pets," Valerie said.
"He wants to be around people and to play and be loved, and that's it," she continued.
Valerie had concerns about bringing the cat home at first, unsure of how her three existing cats would take to the new friend. Luckily, the cats welcomed Bart with open paws, even grooming him before he was let out of the carrier.
"I thought that was just the cutest thing, that that was his welcome to the house," she said. "He wasn't even out of the carrier, and Max is in there going, 'Hey, who are you? Welcome! - Come on out!'"
In addition to playing with his other cat siblings, Bart is a big fan of his toys and Boar's Head chicken.
"He's doing amazing," Valerie said. "He has definitely put on more weight than he probably should have, but he's very, very hard to deny, as you can imagine, after everything he went through."
