One sports fan made a series of predictions in 2019 that have some wondering if he has Marty McFly's contact information.
On Nov. 2, 2019, a fan predicted the next 10 teams that would win the World Series. He was correct that the Los Angeles Dodgers would win the 2020 World Series. He was also correct that the Atlanta Braves would win the 2021 World Series. And after the Philadelphia Phillies clinched the National League pennant Sunday, the fan is four wins away from correctly predicting the first three World Series winners of the decade:
It shouldn't be underestimated how difficult it will be for the Phillies to upset the Houston Astros, a team that won 106 regular season games and is 7-0 so far this postseason. At -185, the Astros, as they should be, are the overwhelming favorites to win the Fall Classic.
With that said, the Phillies clinched their playoff berth at Minute Maid Park, and are 9-2 in the postseason. Led by NLCS MVP Bryce Harper, there is an undeniable feeling of magic surrounding the Phillies right now, even if they won 19 less games in the regular season than the Astros.
And if the Phillies win the World Series in 2022, perhaps you should take all your money and place futures bets on the Mariners, who the Seattle fan believes will win two of the next three titles.
