Antonio Brown does not sound like somebody who expects to be back on the football field again.

The controversial wide receiver, who has not garnered any interest as a free agent following how things transpired between him and the Bucs last season, believes he may be done in the NFL.

“Obviously, we live the game, but you can’t play forever,” Brown said in an interview during a Fan Controlled Football league game on Saturday. “I think I’m a great player that’s done everything in the game.”

The 33-year-old then gave a more definitive answer when asked directly if he would suit up in 2022.

“Nah,” he said. “Don’t play yourself looking at me to play.”

Brown had said earlier in the month that he wished to retire a Pittsburgh Steeler, but did not want to actually play for the team again.

He has also reportedly yet to undergo surgery on his injured ankle — which was the subject of his confrontation with head coach Bruce Arians that preceded his infamous exit at MetLife Stadium where he jogged shirtless off the field, possibly the last time we’ll see Brown in an NFL game.

Brown told TMZ in March that he would not get the surgery until a team has signed him.

It is hard to envision any team having an interest in Brown and perhaps the receiver has come to terms that his career is indeed over.

Surely, this won’t be the last we hear from him prior to the start of the season.
