Baker Mayfield roasted for celebrating Panthers win with helmetless headbutts

Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield didn't play in Thursday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, but he was notably amped up after his team's win.

In fact, Mayfield seemed to get more than a little carried away during postgame handshakes.

The former No. 1 overall pick was seen delivering a series of helmetless headbutts to his helmeted teammates on the field at Bank of America Stadium.

The stunt struck many as an odd decision, to put it mildly.

Even Amazon Prime play-by-play announcer Al Michaels made note of Mayfield's strange display.

"Good way to end up in concussion protocol even though you don't get in the game," Michaels said.

Many other journalists and fans reacted as well:
