Two teams that hope to be playoff-bound this October will meet on Friday with the Philadelphia Phillies visiting the Milwaukee Brewers for the first of a three-game series. The Brew Crew currently sits atop the NL Central standings after recently rattling off nine straight wins despite dropping two in a row to the Cubs earlier this week. Freddy Peralta will look to keep Milwaukee from suffering a three-game losing streak. He was nothing short of magnificent in August, pitching to a 2.10 ERA while earning the win in all five of his starts. In fact, the Brewers are 8-1 in Peralta’s last nine starts dating back to the start of July. On the other hand, Milwaukee’s lineup has produced just two runs over the team's last two games and will now have to go against Zack Wheeler on Friday night. Wheeler is also coming off a strong August in which he posted a 3.00 ERA. He has allowed just one run in seven innings of work in two of his last three starts and three of his last seven starts. The Phillies are also 10-4 in his last 14 starts dating back to June. But while the Phillies are 7-2 over their last nine games, the Brewers have been unstoppable with Peralta on the mound lately, making Milwaukee an excellent home underdog to target on Friday.
