Texans vs Ravens (-9.5)
The Divisional Playoffs kick off on Saturday afternoon when the Baltimore Ravens host the Houston Texans. The Ravens are the top seed in the AFC and are favored at home by 9.5 points in this game. They are hoping that last week’s bye pays dividends and can help them to turn around a disappointing playoff record in recent years, going just 1-3 with Lamar Jackson at quarterback. The good news is that Baltimore won six in a row and went 5-1 against the spread coming down the stretch before sitting Jackson and other key players in Week 18, giving the Ravens plenty of confidence and momentum late in the season, especially with convincing wins over the 49ers and Dolphins.
Of course, the Texans are also riding high after a playoff win over the Browns last week. Houston has now won four of its last five games and gone 4-1 against the spread during that stretch. Including that game, the Texans are 7-3 against the spread as an underdog this season. However, this is Houston’s first road game against a team that made the playoffs since a 25-9 loss in Week 1 against the Ravens. While it’s been a great run for C.J. Stroud and the Texans, the Baltimore team that blew out the 49ers and Dolphins late in the season is more than capable of doing the same to them, giving the Ravens a good chance to win and cover.
