The "Should the Detroit Lions play on Thanksgiving?" debate appears to have shifted to a new matchup that a national (and perhaps even local) audience is increasingly sick of seeing.
After the Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears 27-10 on Sunday Night Football in Week 2, Good Morning Football's Kyle Brandt implored the scheduled makers to stop picking the two teams to play in marquee slots:
Not that GMFB is never critical of players or the league, but ultimately, the show airs on NFL Network, which is owned by the league. It's interesting that Brandt was so willing to reveal his exhaustion with this matchup, which does feel like it's ended in a 14+ point victory for the Packers nearly every time over the past two decades.
The good news for Brandt is that when the Bears welcome Aaron Rodgers to Soldier Field in Week 13, it is slated to be a 1 p.m. ET start time on FOX. Perhaps for the foreseeable future, that's the slot that the NFL should schedule Bears-Packers.
