Former Cowboys RB Marion Barber reportedly died of heat stroke

A cause of death has been determined in the death of former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber.

According to the Frisco Police Department, the Collin County Medical Examiner’s report related to the death of Marion Barber III has been released. The Medical Examiner listed Barber’s cause of death to be "heat stroke" and the manner of death to be an "accident."


On June 1, the 38-year old was found dead in his Frisco apartment.

Barber played with the Cowboys from 2005 to 2010. During those six seasons, Barber handled 1,042 carries for 4,358 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns.
