Andre Drummond’s time in Cleveland is coming to an end.

According to an ESPN report, the Cavs are no longer planning to play Drummond as they try to trade the two-time All-Star center prior to the March 25 NBA trade deadline.

The Cavs want Jarrett Allen, whom they acquired in the blockbuster 4-team James Harden deal with the Nets, to receive more minutes and transition to become the long-term center for the franchise, which would have resulted in Drummond receiving less playing time.

Per ESPN, Cavs GM Koby Altman discussed the plan with Drummond and his agent, Jeff Schwartz, and all parties agreed that Drummond would remain on the team but no longer be active for games.

Drummond did not play in Sunday’s game against the Clippers, although the Cavs said it was for rest while the 27-year-old center arrived to game with a sweatshirt that said “farewell” on it.

According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, the Toronto Raptors have been engaged in talks with the Cavs centering around Drummond.

Drummond, who was traded to Cleveland from Detroit last year, is on an expiring contract in which he is making $28.7 million this season.

There has been no discussion about a buyout to allow Drummond to become a free agent, according to ESPN.

The 7-foot center has averaged 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in 25 starts this season.

Allen, 22, has averaged 13.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 15 games since being traded to Cleveland.
