Brad Stevens has made his first big move as Celtics team president.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics have traded Kemba Walker, the No. 16 overall pick in 2021 and 2025 second-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Al Horford, Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick.
The Celtics signed Walker to a max deal in 2019, but he has battled injuries throughout his two seasons in Boston. There were reports they had tried to trade him last offseason.
Horford spent three seasons with the Celtics from 2016-19. He averaged 14.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season at age 34 and gives the Celtics a veteran post presence.
Brown is a 21-year-old center who averaged 8.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for the Thunder last season.
The trade gives the Celtics some important financial flexibility going forward.
