The road to Super Bowl LV throughout the 2020 NFL season was not exactly smooth due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and though the playoffs have been relatively smooth sailing, we may have hit our first rough patch only six days away from the big game.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, two Kansas City Chiefs players were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list due to close contact.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport adds that neither player tested positive, and both should play in the event that they keep returning negative tests. However, if a player tests positive for COVID-19, they will be ruled out for the Super Bowl, per a previous Schefter report.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed the news (via Mark Maske).
Kilgore started four games for the Chiefs this season, though he has not played on the offensive line to this point in the postseason. Robinson has served as a fourth or fifth receiving option for the Chiefs this year, finishing the regular season with 466 yards and three scores on 45 receptions. Through two games this postseason, Robinson only has one catch on three targets.
