(610 Sports) – The craziest NFL offseason in recent memory just got a little crazier. The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly trading star-wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks.
According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Dolphins are sending a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th- and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft to Kansas City for the speedy Hill.
In addition to the picks sent to Kansas City, the Dolphins are also giving Hill a 4-year, $120 million extension, including $72.2 million guaranteed.
The deal for Hill reportedly came together quickly, following the news that an extension with the Chiefs was unattainable. Hill's camp was looking for a deal greater than that of new Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver DaVante Adams, making Hill the top paid wide receiver in the league. Adams signed a 5-year $140 million deal with Las Vegas following the blockbuster trade that saw Green bay trade Adams for a first and second-round draft pick in this year's draft.
The move by Miami will pair Hill up with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who had a breakout rookie season hauling in 104 receptions for 1,015 yards. The move now gives quarterback Tua Tagovailoa one of the most dynamic wide receiver groups in the NFL.
