There are three Golden State Warriors still actively on the team from their memorable 2014-15 title run, ending a 40-year title drought: Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
And while Thompson has been and will continue to be sidelined throughout the 2020-21 season, the other two are somehow breaking boundaries that they — and pretty much everyone else throughout NBA history — have never reached before. The recent stretch of games has been a solid if unspectacular one for Golden State, going 7-5 in their last 12, but that tally doesn't represent just how special Curry and Green's performances have been.
We'll start with the two-time MVP running the point, who continued his torrid streak of games with 36 points on 13-19 from the field and 7-11 from three-point land. That's remarkable efficiency, and other players achieving such a feat would probably draw some more raised eyebrows from around the association. But for Curry, it was just another day on the job.
In fact, it's the 10th game in a row in which he's scored 25 points on at least 50 percent shooting and with at least eight three-pointers attempted. That type of consistent efficiency on such a high volume of difficult shots is unprecedented in NBA history, even for Steph himself.
Here's the full list of players with at least four such games in a row, and it's no surprise that no one has come close to such a run of consecutive dominance (via Stathead).

Draymond Green's streak isn't quite as flat out dominant. It's more on the obscure side of things, but it's perhaps more interesting to think about than what we're seeing from Curry. With six points and 16 assists against the Cavaliers, Green continued to separate himself from the typical NBA big man, filling in the center role like only Draymond could.
Sure, he's a "starting center," but that's made possible due to the fact that the Warriors are dealing with an injured James Wiseman and that the NBA continues to evolve into a position-less league. Digging deeper into his run reveals that it's not only the fact that he's playing center that makes it such a unique stretch of games.
Monday night marked the seventh straight game in which Green recorded fewer than 12 points and more than eight assists. He's the 10th player in NBA history to ever do such a thing, and the other nine guys are slightly different in stature than the 6-foot-6, 230-pound forward (or center).
Here's the list (via Stathead).
Two unforgettable players on two unforgettable stretches. What do they mean for the Warriors? Maybe nothing. Maybe they're just trivial and trifling tidbits that stat nerds like myself find inordinately interesting. But they also undoubtedly add to the legacy of these two Warriors stars and highlight their strong points as they continue their trajectories toward NBA greatness.
