DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) -- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted he is concerned after his team was held scoreless against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, their first shutout loss since November 2003.
"We are concerned, we should be concerned," Jones said on his weekly show with The Fan's "Shan & RJ" on Tuesday. "There are a lot of competitive teams in the NFL."
When asked about the Cowboys' red-zone issues, Jones said that scoring has been an issue this season when the team gets down the field.
"We're not proud of that," Jones said. "We've got a way to get in the end zone with Zeke, with Dak's ability to keep the ball, and we've got some work to do."
Going into the game against the Colts, the Cowboys' defense was one of the toughest in the league -- but that meant nothing on Sunday. The Colts offensive line created enough space for Mack to run for a career-high 139 yards and two scores.
"Personally, I was surprised at our inability to stop the run," Jones said. "We did not get penetration. We let them establish the run, and it was downhill from there."
For the Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott ran 18 times for 87 yards and caught seven passes for 41 yards. Amari Cooper had four catches for 32 yards, and Dak Prescott was 24 of 39 for 206 yards with one interception.
On injury updates, Jones said David Irving is "limited on working around," but added that he expects Irving to play again this season.
Jones mentioned that linebacker Sean Lee is back, though his snaps were limited.
"You'll see a conservative approach with him over the next couple of games," Jones said.
