Derwin James bodyslams Travis Kelce, saving touchdown

Derwin James: strong.

With really Patrick Mahomes heating up, the Los Angeles Chargers late in the third quarter were in bend-don’t-break mode up 17-14.

With the ball on LA’s 21, Mahomes rolled out of the pocket and found Travis Kelce, who brought the ball to 3-yard line. He attempted to get further after evading some Chargers defenders, but waiting for him on the doorstep was James. The star safety went low on Kelce, and ultimately lifting the tight end and slamming him to the ground.

It was quite a sight.

Kelce is listed at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, while James is 6-foot-2, 215. Impressive work.

It ended up being a huge play, too. The Chargers defense held firm at the goal line, forcing them to settle for a field goal to tie the game.
