DETROIT – It was a rough day for Aaron Rodgers in Detroit, from start to finish.
That rough day has Green Bay now staring at a mountain of a fight if they want any outside chance at making a playoff push.
While the veteran marched his Packers down the field on Green Bay’s first two drives of the game, they came up empty on both trips deep into the red zone -- thanks to a pair of rookies -- before losing 15-9 to fall to 3-6 on the year.
Safety Kerby Joseph put an end to what had been an 88-yard waltz down the field, picking off Rodgers at the goal line, jumping up to snag a deflected ball.
It was the first career interception for the third-round pick out of Illinois.
Rodgers brought the Packers deep into Lions territory again on the next drive, but was picked off by No. 2 overall pick Aidan Hutchinson on 4th & goal from the 1-yard-line on the first play of the second quarter.
The Packers' third drive came to an end after a 26-yard completion to Alan Lazard on 4th down was overturned after a Lions challenge.
Joseph struck again deep in to Lions territory, picking off Rodgers for the second time midway through the third quarter.
Rodgers found Lazard in the end zone on Green Bay's next drive, but couldn't convert the two-point conversion.
