Dez Bryant Gets Tryout With New Orleans Saints

NEW ORLEANS (WWL) -- Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is among three wideouts scheduled to work out Tuesday with the New Orleans Saints, league sources say.

The Cowboys released Bryant in the offseason.  He has been a free agent since.

It's unclear what the Saints are looking for in a workout with wide receivers. The only indication could be Cam Meridith's absence in the last two weeks. The Saints are 7-1 and in control of the NFC, but they are all in on trying to make sure they have all their bases covered for a playoff run.

The Baltimore Ravens offered Bryant a multi-year deal, but he reportedly wants a one-year, "prove-it" deal.

One former Saint sees where Dez could contribute.

"He can help in some ways, in particular the red zone, and on third down," said Saints color analyst Deuce McAllister. "I'm curious to see if he's going to conform to the Saints way."

The Saints locker room can handle the personality of Bryant should he sign.

Other reports indicate the Saints also will work out former Seattle Seahawks receiver Brandon Marshall.
