Mike Ditka and Trey Wingo each have a new job in the sports betting world, it was announced this week. Ditka, an NFL Hall of Famer, will take on a role as an NFL brand ambassador for BetRivers, while Wingo, a former longtime ESPN host, will join Caesars Sportsbook as a Chief Trends Officer and Brand Ambassador.
The deal with Ditka, former Chicago Bears player and legend, and BetRivers was announced in a press release on Tuesday, which stated this is a multi-year agreement. Ditka will serve as an NFL brand ambassador for BetRivers, which is an official and exclusive sportsbook of the Bears.
"We are honored to partner with one of the greatest coaches in NFL history; someone who has deep roots in Chicago and is one of the most important figures in modern sports and culture," said Richard Schwartz, President of Rush Street Interactive, which operates BetRivers sportsbook, in the press release. "Mike Ditka was successful at every level of the game, from player to coach to analyst, and we're thrilled for him to bring his knowledge and passion to our sports betting arena at BetRivers.com."
As part of this deal, Ditka will offer his NFL insight on the sportsbook’s social media platforms. This will include Da Coach's Picks of the Week and a weekly web video on Bears games titled, Beat Da Coach.
"As a coach my philosophy has always been one thing—to win,” Ditka said in the release. "BetRivers strives to develop trusting relationships with its players. I'm really looking forward to helping strengthen those bonds even further by offering advice to its players on how to win."
As for Wingo, his new gig with Caesars was also announced on Tuesday.
As a Chief Trends Officer and Brand Ambassador, Wingo will provide original content and insight on Caesars’ social media channels and their other outlets.
“I want to tell the stories behind the odds,” Wingo said. “I am excited about where the Caesars brand is going, and I wanted to be part of the team that is creating content to engage our sports bettors.”
Wingo had been with ESPN since 1997 before making his exit from the network last year.
