Even with two picks in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles may have their eyes on an even bigger prize.

Tuesday, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported that the Eagles have been active in potentially laying the ground work for a trade up in the first round.

"One of the teams I would say most notably making calls about potentially trading up is the Philadelphia Eagles, which is no surprise," Rapoport said Tuesday on NFL Network. "Every year around this time it seems that Howie Roseman is interested in doing a lot of things. Moving up is one, moving back is another -- he wants to keep his options open.

"Moving up is a fascinating one, because you do wonder if the Eagles move up from 15 -- and, of course, they do have plenty of ammunition -- who would they be targeting? Potentially, would a corner be someone they would be targeting? Would it be an edge rusher, would a [Kayvon] Thibodeaux slide? ... No one loves trades more than Howie Roseman."

It's unclear if Thibodeaux will fall into a range that the Eagles would realistically trade up to, but perhaps Jermaine Johnson II of Florida State could be a name that falls into the range for them to move up.

Derrick Gunn of JAKIB Media said Monday that in addition to edge rusher, the Eagles are also "prioritizing" wide receiver. Any of Drake London, Garrett Wilson or Jameson Williams could be names worth moving up a few picks for.

While the Eagles have seemingly kept themselves flexible for a potential pursuit of a quarterback in the future, making a trade up in the 2022 NFL Draft wouldn't preclude them from making another major trade a year from now, should they choose to go in that route.

If the Eagles tap into the treasure chest to move up a few picks from 15, they could recoup some by moving back at No. 18. And that will be in addition to the two first-round picks they are already slated to have a year from now.
