When Saint Peter’s takes on Purdue Friday night to try and make history with an Elite Eight bid, Eli Manning will be watching closely.
After, he has always been an avid fan of the Peacocks. Allegedly.
The Giants legend shared a photo on Twitter on Thursday sporting a Saint Peter’s shirt, jokingly claiming that he has always been a big fan of the MAAC darlings that have stunned the college basketball world by reaching the Sweet 16 as a 15 seed.
“What? I have been cheering for Saint Peter’s for years,” Manning wrote. “They are my local New Jersey basketball team. Go Peacocks!”
Fortunately, Saint Peter’s won’t be taking on Mississippi, Manning’s alma mater.
